I PUOTI DI BADIA CALAVENA

La dolce leggenda della nascita dei “puoti” di Santa Lucia dolci tipici di Santa Lucia e del Natale. Si chiamano così perché hanno la forma di un bambolotto, di un “puoto” appunto e la leggenda narra che a crearli sia stata proprio Santa Lucia, apparsa sotto forma di una vecchia anziana che aveva chiesto ospitalità ad una povera famiglia di Badia Calavena. L’anziana era stata sorpresa da una bufera di neve e se non avesse trovato riparo sarebbe sicuramente morta. Un rifugio lo trovò nella casa di una famiglia povera che condivise quel poco che aveva con la vecchia viandante. Era la notte prima di Santa Lucia e i bambini erano felici perché sapevano che la Santa quella notte gli avrebbe portato dei dolci. Loro però desideravano anche delle bambole, ma non era possibile accontentarli, perché i soldi per comprare le bambole non ce n’erano. Così, quando i bimbi andarono a dormire, l’anziana svelò la ricetta dei “puoti” alla signora che tanto calorosamente l’aveva ospitata. Con i “puoti” i bambini sarebbero stati accontentati perché avrebbero avuto sia le bambole che i dolci desiderati.
